Q: Where is the hotel located?
A: Victoria close to the Railway Station. Please see the map . The location is ideal for sightseeing or if you are on business.
Q: Do you have a Direct Dial telephone in the rooms ? .
A: Yes. Please ask for an outside line on arrival.
Q: Can I access the internet?
A: Yes. You can access the internet from the room with your own laptop. This can be wireless or through the modem point. Charges apply.
Q: Do you have a restaurant in the hotel? Are there any nearby?
A: We serve Breakfast only but there are some 2000 restaurants within walking distance. All price ranges and types are well represented. Hot drinks are available in the Dining Room, during Reception hours.
Q: How far is Buckingham Palace and when is it open to the public?
A: It takes about 10 minutes by bus and is open to the public Mid July - September.
Q: Which is the closest underground Station?
A: Victoria or Pimlico are approximately the same distance.
Q: How far is Westminster Abbey?
A: 10 minutes by bus No 24 or walking it takes 20 minutes.
Q: How far is Waterloo Station and how much does it cost?
A: It takes about 10 minutes by taxi and costs £5/£7.
Q: Do you provide tea/coffee making facilities in the hotel?
A: Tea and Coffee are available for purchase in the Dining Room.
Q: Do you provide a face cloth?
A: No as a rule we don't use them in England , but they can be purchased inexpensively nearby.
Q: What star rating is the hotel?
A: We are rated 3 Stars ( Diamonds ) with the Visit Britain , the national Tourist Board.
Q: Can you book Sightseeing tours or Theatre tickets?
A: Yes. Please enquire at the Reception desk on arrival.
Q: Where is the closest Internet Café?
A: Wilton Road near Victoria Station (Easy Everything) about 10minutes walk.
Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in is at noon and check-out is at 10.30am.
What type of payment do you accept?
A: Cash, Travellers Cheques in pounds, Personal Cheques, Credit Cards with a 5% surcharge, US Dollars and Euro.
Q: Do you have parking facilities in the hotel?
A: There is a public car park about 5 minutes from the hotel. At certain times parking is free outside the hotel, please enquire on arrival.
Q: Do you have an electrical adapter to convert to 240v from 120v?
A: You can buy one inexpensively nearby. We will lend you one if available. You have a 120v shaver point in the bathroom.
Q: Where can I get a taxi?
A: Taxis can be hailed at the corner of Belgrave Road and Charlwood Street .
Q: Where is the closest Supermarket?
A: Tesco on Warwick Way , or Sainsburys on Wilton Road , are 5 minuites walk from the hotel.
Q: Where is the closest ATM or cashpoint?
A: On Vauxhall Bridge Road you can withdraw cash with your credit card and pin number. Barclays and HSBC Banks.
Q: Can I use my calling card from the room?
A: No, because of fraudulent use, in common with most hotels in the area, 0800 and similar (Freephone numbers) are barred but you can use your calling card at any telephone box. There is one nearby.
Q: Do you provide facilities for faxing?
A: Yes but there is a charge for this service.
Q: Do you provide laundry facilities?
A: No but there is a laundrette and a Dry Cleaner about 2 minutes from the hotel on Churton Street .
Q: Where is the closest American Express Office?
A: About 10 minutes walk on Wilton Road or on Victoria Street .
Q: What time is the changing of the guards?
A: 11.00am at Buckingham Palace or try Horseguards at the same time.
Q: Can I check-in after 10pm?
A: Yes but please let us know.
Q: What time does the underground service start on Sundays?
A: 07.00am from Pimlico. Earlier from Victoria .
Q: What is the best way to Heathrow Airport and how much does it cost?
A: Taxis cost about £40 and takes about 45mins, with the underground it costs about £4 and takes just about the same time. See locations page
Q: How much does the Gatwick Express train cost and how long does it takes?
A: It costs £12 and takes about 40minutes from Victoria Station.
